Another crazy idea but seems to work well. Aspirin and honey mask for the face is the most common D.I.Y solution for exfoliating the skin. Apparently it leaves a baby soft skin. Why aspirin? well it seems to contain BHA which is a remedie for acne. I think I'll try this one out rather than the glue one. Lets see if it actually works or not. Enjoy video, there seems to be lot more on YouTube.

D.I.Y Nose Strips
I found this video on YouTube whilst browsing during a short break. It's a bit eeww but funny and reasonable at the same time. Nose strips costs on average £7 or more so this video shows a cheaper alternative. Handy during times like now with all the budget cuts and on going recession.

Fat Pigeons
Pigeons are found all over the world as they are of a common species. 'Columba livia' - being their scientific name. 'Seeds and fruit form the major component of the diet of pigeons and doves' supposedly. However nowadays there is more chance of seeing a pigeon picking on rubbish like leftovers of takeaway or chips.
I not writing this as a pigeon freak but because every time I walk past a pigeon my darling friend Maricel says "OMG, British pigeons are sooooooo FAT!!!"

Haha apparently the pigeons in Brunei are very slim unlike the European ones we have seen here and in Paris.

Is this how slim they are CEL? or is my version still fat!?! hahahaha :) |
Proportions
A3 Layout pad £5.75, 55gsm 80 sheets. Finding it better then my A4 Daler Rowney one. I'm finding working larger is actually better as you don't have to be so compact. |
Yes, I took time out and practiced drawing men as i kept drawing them too feminine. |

Word of Sentiment
Monday, 21 March 2011
The Chosen one I guess... Everything seems to fit into place at a pace. Tutor left me with images of four guys to choose from and create a collection for. Who I wanted came to me after a couple of days of serious thinking. Never tried designing for men before, however I'm surprisingly really enjoying this project. Only aim is not to fall behind this time around. Haha I actually used my workspace and created a few working mood boards based on this client of mine.Just need to find a male model for a few crits next. Lord please bless me with some luck and let me bump into a guy that has proportions of 9 heads in his body... |
Mood board for my client. |
This furry tiger like stranger crossed my path. I sure was amazed by its stripes. |
Not for long though. I got home and my favourite grip fell to two pieces. Maybe cats are unlucky?! |

Classics will always remain classic
Believe it or not, I'm collecting bottles of all kinds. Well glass bottles, not exactly sure why but they look very pretty and will always be iconic. |

Vintage Finds
Vintage markets can be great fun to find treasures but they can be costly. Another option is local charity shops. Today I visited few after a long gap because my friend wanted to buy some buttons. Ended up buying a few too many myself. However they were almost free. Total cost of all the buttons on the image below came up to £1.60!!! Happy bunny even after the sad news about Galliano now.
Today's best finds! |
Dior officially sacked John Galliano
I thought he was just suspended for a while, but now Galliano has actually been sacked by Dior for the anti-semitic comments he made to two girls at bar in Paris. He is drunk as you can clearly see on the video, however is the sack too hasty? Worried about the future of Dior's haute couture now... Wonder who will be taking over the post.

Toile for the Trouser
Trouser project was getting absolutely nowhere at all so I decided to start working backwards to begin with. Mostly so that I don't get lazy and fall behind even more than the current status of progression. Yesterday I made this toile for a standard, straight slim-fit legs and slightly altered the style to fulfill my conservative code I had placed. Thanks for rushing in to try it on last minute Lorna! I guess the next step is to chose the fabric and finalize and make the trouser itself.
